Web Development Company

Websites Built to Be Found, Fast, and Easy to Sell From

We build websites that load quickly, rank, convert and connect to the systems behind them. Not a redesign that looks better and performs the same.

  • Performance first
  • SEO and AEO ready
  • CRM connected

Web development services cover the design, build, integration and ongoing maintenance of a website or web application. Winbonds Web builds on WordPress, Shopify and custom stacks depending on what the business actually needs to do, and treats speed, search visibility and the connection into your CRM and analytics as part of the build rather than as work to be done later.

What does web development include?

Information architecture, interface design, front end and back end build, content population, integrations with the systems you already run, performance and accessibility work, analytics and tracking, then testing, launch and maintenance. A quote that covers only design and build is quoting part of the job.

Should we use WordPress, Shopify or a custom build?

WordPress when content and search are the priority and the team needs to publish without a developer. Shopify when you are selling products and want the commerce machinery handled for you. Custom when the product is the thing the business runs on and no platform models it properly. We recommend based on what you need to do, and will say when a cheaper option is the right one.

How long does a website take?

A focused marketing site is usually a matter of weeks. A larger site with migration, many templates or several integrations runs longer. The variable that moves timelines most is content readiness, not development, so we agree a content plan at the start rather than discovering the gap near launch.

Why Rebuilds Disappoint

A New Design Is Not the Same as a Better Website

Most rebuilds change how the site looks and leave every commercial problem exactly where it was, and some of them lose the rankings the old site had earned.

A redesign project

Make it look current.

  • Mockups approved
  • Build to the mockups
  • Launch
  • Hand over

Three months later the site is slower than the old one, the URL structure changed without redirects, organic traffic has dropped and nobody can edit a page without raising a ticket.

A build that has a job

Make it perform, then make it look right.

  • Define what the site must achieve
  • Audit existing rankings and URLs
  • Architecture and redirect map
  • Design against the content, not around it
  • Build with performance budgets
  • Schema and structured data
  • Analytics and CRM wired in
  • Editor training and documentation
  • Post-launch monitoring

How We Build

The Decisions That Separate a Good Build From an Expensive One

Performance treated as a requirement

Core Web Vitals targets are agreed before the build starts and held throughout, rather than attempted as a clean-up pass once the site is already heavy.

Search equity protected

Existing rankings, URLs and backlinks are mapped before anything moves, and a redirect plan ships with the site. Losing organic traffic at launch is avoidable and common.

Editable without a developer

Your team can create and change pages using the components we build. A site that needs a ticket for every edit stops being updated, and then stops ranking.

Connected to what you already run

Forms reach the CRM with their source intact, analytics and tag management are configured, and payments or booking systems are wired in during the build.

Accessible and resilient

Semantic markup, keyboard navigation, sensible contrast and graceful behaviour when a script fails. The site should work before the JavaScript loads, not only after.

You own everything

Code, hosting, domains and accounts are in your name. No proprietary page builder licence that makes leaving us expensive.

Platforms

What We Build On, and When Each Makes Sense

  • WordPress

Content and search led sites. Custom themes and plugins rather than a bought template weighed down by features you will never use.

  • Shopify

Product selling, where checkout, payments and inventory should be someone else problem and the work goes into conversion.

  • Custom applications

When the product is the business. Modern frameworks, an API layer and a data model designed around your actual workflow.

  • Progressive web apps

App behaviour without an app store, where installability and offline use matter more than native device features.

  • Headless

A separate front end against a content or commerce API, where several channels consume the same content.

  • Hosting and infrastructure

Caching, CDN, staging, backups and deployment, set up so releases are routine rather than nervous.

We will recommend the simplest platform that does the job. A custom build you do not need is the most expensive mistake in this category.

What You Receive

Everything That Ships With a Build

Architecture and redirect map

Site structure, URL plan and a one to one redirect map from the old site so nothing that ranked is lost.

Design system

A component set with tokens for colour, type and spacing, so future pages stay consistent without a designer on every one.

The build

Responsive, accessible, documented code in your repository, with staging and production environments.

Analytics and tracking

GA4, Tag Manager, conversion events and CRM form integration configured and tested before launch.

Schema and metadata

Structured data, titles and descriptions across templates so search and answer engines can read the site properly.

Documentation and training

A walkthrough for your team and written documentation, so the site keeps being updated after we step back.

Quality Gates

What We Check Before Anything Goes Live

A launch checklist is the difference between a site that quietly loses traffic and one that holds what it had. These are run on staging and again after release.

  • Core Web Vitals on real devices
  • Redirect map tested end to end
  • Keyboard and screen reader passes
  • Structured data validation
  • Forms reaching the CRM
  • Analytics events firing correctly
  • Cross browser and cross device checks
  • Backups and rollback confirmed

How We Work

From Scope to a Site Your Team Can Run

Discovery and scope

What the site has to achieve, who it is for, what it must integrate with and what the constraints are. This produces a written scope with a fixed price, not an open estimate.

Architecture

Page structure, URL plan, template list and the redirect map from the existing site. Search equity is planned for here rather than rescued later.

Design

A component based design worked against real content, reviewed at desktop and phone width together rather than desktop first.

Build and integrate

Front end and back end, performance budgets held throughout, with CRM, analytics and any payment or booking systems wired in as part of the work.

Test and launch

The full quality checklist on staging, then a release with rollback ready and a monitoring window afterwards.

Care

Updates, security patching, backups, monitoring and a route for changes, so the site does not quietly decay once the project closes.

Who This Fits

When a Build Is Worth Doing

Sites that convert badly

Traffic arrives and does not act. Usually a structure, speed and clarity problem rather than a design taste problem.

Sites that load slowly

Accumulated plugins, heavy themes and unoptimised media, where a rebuild costs less than continuing to patch.

Sites nobody can edit

Every change needs a developer, so the site stops being updated and slowly stops ranking.

Sites disconnected from the stack

Enquiries arrive by email and get copied into a CRM by hand, so source data is lost and follow up is slow.

New products and launches

A first proper site or a launch that needs to be live, measurable and credible on a date.

Multi-region businesses

Several markets, languages or currencies that need a structure search engines can understand.

Common Questions

Web Development, Answered

What does a website cost?

It depends on the number of templates, the integrations and how much content needs producing or migrating. We scope in detail and quote a fixed price for that scope, with any variations priced before they happen rather than appearing on an invoice.

Will we lose our search rankings?

Not if the migration is done properly. We map existing URLs and rankings before anything changes and ship a redirect plan with the site. Traffic loss at launch is almost always a missing redirect map rather than bad luck.

Can our team edit the site afterwards?

Yes, and we build for it. You get a component set your team can assemble pages from, plus documentation and a walkthrough. Needing us for routine edits would be a design failure.

Do you provide hosting?

We can set up and manage hosting, or work with the provider you already use. Either way the accounts are in your name and you can move without our involvement.

What happens after launch?

There is a monitoring window immediately after release, then an optional care plan covering updates, security patching, backups and a route for changes. Without some form of maintenance, platform sites degrade within months.

Do you work with our designer or brand team?

Yes. We can build to supplied designs, extend an existing design system, or handle design ourselves. If we are building to someone else designs we will raise performance or accessibility concerns before build rather than after.

Who owns the code?

You do, in your repository, with no licence dependency on us. That is also true of the design files, the hosting and every account involved.

Get Started

Tell Us What the Site Has to Do

Send us the current site and what is not working about it. We will come back with a recommended platform, a structure, a scope and a fixed price, plus anything we think you should not spend money on.
